HANDMEZZO x ATELIER EVB
La Tavola Segreta – “The Secret Table” is the result of a unique collaboration between HANDMEZZO Ceramics and Atelier EVB.
Together, these two creative forces unite their passions for craftsmanship and art to create an exclusive collection of handcrafted ceramic pieces, each touched by abstract artistry.
At the heart of this collaboration are Jasmine, the skilled ceramicist behind HANDMEZZO, and Ellen, the abstract artist behind Atelier EVB.
Jasmine shapes each piece by hand with care and precision, while Ellen brings it to life with expressive ceramic glazes: a meeting of form and color that transforms tableware into intimate works of art.
The collection has been an immense success, with half of the pieces already finding their way into the hands of collectors.
The remaining selection is now exclusively available for viewing and acquisition at Restaurant The Karper in Machelen aan de Leie, where the pieces continue to be celebrated in an inspiring setting.
La Tavola Segreta embodies the union of two passions and two talents, offering table pieces that are one-of-a-kind, timeless, and soulful.
CO-CREATION WITH BART STANDAERT
For our duo exhibition Connecting at Koetshuis Waregem, figurative artist Bart Standaert and I had the intention to create something unique: a live collaboration that would bring our two artistic worlds together.
We invited visitors to be part of the process: we encouraged them to let us capture their portrait in a photograph, which Bart then translated into his expressive figurative oil painting.
Meanwhile, I prepared the canvas with dynamic abstract acrylic layers, setting the emotional tone and energy of the painting.
The result was a fascinating dialogue between two disciplines, the fluid spontaneity of abstract color and the intimate presence of figurative form, blending on a single canvas into a work that feels both contemporary and deeply human.
This collaboration was the heart of the exhibition: an exploration of how two very different artistic languages can merge into one harmonious story.
The piece we created from the portrait of these two individuals beautifully embodied the theme of “Connecting”.
